Thursday, May 3. According to a level 5 prisoner participating in the hunger strike at Ohio State Penitentiary (OSP) there are forty-eight (48) prisoners who have refused nine meals and should be officially recognized as on hunger strike. Warden Bobby refused to comment or return calls requesting information about the hunger strike.
TBI spokesman Kristin Helm told Nashville‘s News 2 the agency believes “other victims are out there, and its likely there will be further charges” against the suspect, who has been identified as Maurice “Jimmy” McAllister.
“We have information that both boys and girls have been abused by him,” Helm said, adding, “We hope they come forward.”
Investigators in Giles County questioned McAllister for several hours Tuesday before he was arrested on a $250,000 dollar bond.
According to District Attorney Mike Bottoms, if McAllister makes bond, “he must wear an ankle bracelet monitor and go nowhere near where the Amish community.”
In court records, a TBI agent in an affidavit said McAllister began sexually abusing a female Amish victim in 2004 when she was just 15 years old.
The alleged abuse continued until last Thursday, April 26, when McAllister again went to the victim’s home and fondled her breasts, the TBI agent said in an affidavit.
The affidavit indicated that over the course of the assaults, McAllister threatened to kill the girl and her family if she told anyone about their encounters.
When questioned about the assault earlier this week, authorities said McAllister admitted his guilt.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Giles County courthouse.
According to authorities, an estimated 500 Amish live in Giles and Lawrence counties.
District Attorney Bottoms said he is confident the community will help with the prosecution.
“We have been able to work with the Amish through the years, and I do not have a problem that they will assist us not only in the investigation, but the trial.” he said.
McAllister’s residence on Big Dry Creek Road was also searched for evidence in the case.
A former church youth program volunteer is charged with aggravated sexual battery after police allege he admitted to fondling a 10-year-old boy in 2007.
Brian Lance Mitchell, 30, who according to Metro police used to volunteer at Cornerstone Church, was held in jail Tuesday in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
According to the police investigation, Mitchell he sent the victim inappropriate text messages shortly after the alleged crime, prompting the boy’s mother to show those messages to church staff who then removed Mitchell from the youth program.
When the victim, now 14, saw Mitchell from a distance during a recent visit to the church, he recalled events of five years ago, according to police, and that led to a forensic interview in March at the Nashville Children’s Alliance.
Based on information from that interview, Metro police Sex Crimes detectives opened a criminal investigation on Mitchell, who allegedly made certain sexual admissions concerning the boy when he was interviewed a few days ago.
Detectives were unaware of any other complaints of criminal activity during Mitchell’s association with the church youth program but asked that anyone with any knowledge of such activities to call the Sex Crimes Unit at 862-7540.
Prior to his arrest, Mitchell was residing at the Union Rescue Mission and was working in the kitchen of a local hospital. The police investigation continues, and additional charges against Mitchell are possible.

A man who worked for an animal shelter has been arrested after allegedly taking photographs of himself having sex with his girlfriend’s dog.
He was at home when they arrived and ‘admitted to downloading and viewing child pornography from his home computer’, police said.
He allowed detectives to search his hard drive and they uncovered nine photos and one video of child pornography, according to police.
‘Several images of bestiality’ were also found on his mobile phone, authorities told the Tampa Bay Times.
Clearwater police spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said the photos showed Antunes with a pit bull, owned by his girlfriend Katerina Williamson.
Ms Williams is the medical director of the Pinellas Humane Society, where Antunes also worked.

Twila Cole from the Humane Society told the Times Antunes was employed on a limited basis as a contract worker at the Clearwater shelter.
She added that he mainly worked in maintenance and other people were present when he had access to animals.
‘He was never on the property working unsupervised,’ she said.
But Mike Eagle, who worked with dogs at the shelter, said Antunes was in charge of caring and walking dogs that had been abused.
Eagle described Antunes as ‘strange’ and called his alleged actions ‘sick’, adding: ‘I didn’t see anything like that.’

Antunes was charged with 10 counts of possessing of child pornography.
Police also referred an animal cruelty charge to the Pasco-Pinellas State Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Watts added that the dog is now with Antunes’s girlfriend and that the animal welfare authorities would be notified of the incident.
Police added that his girlfriend was not aware of the pictures until officers showed her.
Affair: Karen Carstens told her sick friend she would look after her son but instead had a years-long sexual relationship with him
A 41-year-old woman is facing arrest for allegedly having a sexual relationship with boy that began when he was just 13-years-old.
Karen Lee Carstens volunteered to help babysit the teen while her friend, the boy’s mother, was hospitalized.
Police said she began sexual assaulting the teen when he was 13 years old and eventually ended up having a sex with him on numerous occasion at her home in Houston, Texas.
Court documents revealed the teen was more concerned than Carstens that he would get her pregnant when having unprotected sex.
According to court documents the boy ‘cried believing he had impregnated [Carstens] but [Carstens] assured him not to worry because her menstrual cycle was due soon.’
Police say the victim said Carstens told him not to tell anyone about their sexual relationship because she could get into trouble.
The affair began when Carstens volunteered to look after the 13-year-old boy while his mother was being treated in a Houston hospital.

The boy told investigators that when the relationship began it involved just touching her breasts and genitals, but progressed to oral sex.
The court documents revealed the concerns of the teen that he would get Carstens pregnant.
He described one encounter where he suggested anal sex as a way for them to avoid pregnancy. She at first refused but then allowed the teen to do it.
The affair ended in 2009 when Carstens moved away from the Houston area.
Carstens, now 41 and living in Riva, Maryland has been charged with sexual assault of a child by authorities in Houston.
She is not in custody but a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

The little girl was initially found alive at the property but later died in hospital.
Listed as the treasurer of the J.T Ready for Sheriff of Pinal County, Lisa Mederos had been living with Ready at her home for the past two years.

While it is known that Ready is among the dead, it has not been confirmed whether he turned the gun on himself.
‘There were a few weapons in the house and we don’t know if there was a gun battle or if it was a murder-suicide,’ said Sgt Bill Balafas of Gilbert Police.
Police have said that there had been a reported incident of domestic violence between Ready and Mederos earlier in the day.
It has also been revealed that Mederos’ other 19-year-old daughter was not at home at the time of the killings and is now being interviewed by police.
Explaining the scene that confronted emergency workers, Sgt Balafas said that the toddler was taken to hospital by the first responders.
‘There were signs of life, that’s why we transported her,’ said Sgt Balafas.
‘This is a domestic situation. We do have witnesses that our investigators are interviewing.’

He has stated in the past that ‘I firmly believe in having a minefield across the border,’ he says in a widely distributed video.

Ready has in the past spoken at National Socialist Movement rallies in Omaha and is a vocal opponent of unchecked immigration in to the United States.
The former military serviceman had recently set up the U.S Border Guard, a militia-style group that routinely patrolled the southern Arizona desert searching for illegal immigrants.
And in January 2012, he announced his candidacy to run as a Democratic candidate for Pinal County Sheriff.
A statement of organisation filed on January 11 has an Amber Maderos listed as the treasurer of the Committee to Elect J.T Ready.
However, her name was not mentioned in amended paperwork filed by Ready on March 12 of this year.

Part of the burgeoning volunteer militia scene in Arizona, neo-Nazi Ready was known around Phoenix as a man who was keen to take matters into his own hands.
Declaring war on ‘narco-terrorists’ and illegal immigrants, Ready’s reputation made local law enforcement officials nervous, especially given his association with the National Socialist Movement (NSM).
Subscribing to the belief that only non-Jewish, white hetro-sexuals should be American citizens and that all non-white people should leave the country, Ready readily admitted identifying with the NSM.
‘We’re not going to sit around and wait for the government anymore,’ said Ready in an interview with the Associated Press in 2010.
‘This is what our founding fathers did.’
Twice court martialed, Ready received a bad-conduct discharge from the Marines in 1996 for conspiracy and assault.

In 2004, the Arizona native decided to adopt a career in politics and ran for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives.
One of his main campaign pledges was to defeat the threat posed to America by undocumented immigrants.
He told a reporter during the run up to the election that Arizona could improve its education if it would ‘deal with this mass illegal influx of foreign students who not even embrace the same language and culture as Americans and who spread tuberculosis, whooping cough, lice, and other third-world biological diseases to other children.’
He lost the election.
And in March 2006, Ready made headlines when he opened fire at a Latino man with a BB gun when running for the Mesa City Council.

No charges were pressed over the incident and his second run for office was derailed when he volunteered to act as master of ceremonies at the Mesa Veteran’s Day parade.
It was revealed before hand that he had been twice court-martialed and kicked out of the Marines.
Creating the anti-immigration group ‘Americans First’ in 2006, Ready marched on the Mexican consulate in Phoenix.
‘We are advocating that the government of Mexico should be designated a ‘threat nation’ because they are openly subverting our laws and sovereignty,’ said Ready at the time.
Finally in 2006 running as the only candidate Ready became the Republican precinct committeeman in a west Mesa district.
But in September 2007, he marched under a swastika banner in Omaha, Nebraska with brown-shirted NSM leaders.
Coming to the attention of the Arizona legislature, attempts were made to expel Ready from his position as a committeeman, but these failed.
Claiming to have left the NSM in 2010, Ready had indicated to the media that he was concentrating on his volunteer militia work and his personal life

A Houston family were locked inside a restaurant and the police were called after they refused to pay the tip.
Out for dinner with friends and family, Jasmine Marks claimed that the service at La Fisherman was not of the quality that deserved the mandatory 17 percentgratuity in the bill.
That is the amount the restaurant adds to parties of more than five diners, but Mark’s complaint was that the staff were rude, their drinks were not refilled and mistakes were made on their orders.
Speaking to the manager at the end of the meal, Marks was astounded as the restaurant demanded they pay the full 17 percent and eventually called the police reported Click2houston.com.
‘We asked her, could the gratuity be removed?’ said Marks.
‘Could we give our own tip?
‘If you’re not satisfied with the service, you shouldn’t have to pay gratuity.’
Explaining that restaurant policy was inflexible, the manager locked the door and phoned local law enforcement.

‘She was like, ‘You have an unsettled bill and ya’ll can’t leave until you pay it,’ said Marks.

Only questioning why the 17 percent was mandatory when it was a tip for service, Mark’s tried to reason with the manager of La Fisherman.
‘She said, ‘That’s fine. If you don’t want to pay the gratuity we have the police outside,’ said Marks.

‘I asked the police officer twice, maybe three times, is it against the law if we don’t pay the gratuity and he never gave me a straight answer.’
Speaking to Houston’s local KPRC Local 2, the on-duty manager at the restaurant said that they don’t have a problem with customers not giving a tip, but they have called the police before.
The issue alerted Houston’s Better Business Bureau who have announced that they are examining the complaint.
The on-duty manager said that if the restaurant goers did not want to pay the tip then they could settle the matter with the police
‘Consumers need to understand the policy going in,’ said Dan Parson, President of the BBB.
‘I mean every sign walking in the door. What credit cards do you accept, not accept? What are your hours? Seventeen percent gratuity for the six of you? If you don’t like it, leave.’
‘They call it the hospitality business, I know you love food, but you got to love the people who eat the food.’
