A former junior hockey “white” coach with ties to Raynham and Middleboro is being held on $182,000 bond in connection with dozens of charges after law enforcement officials say he tried to solicit two underage Florida boys for homo-sex.
On Tuesday, Anthony DeSilva, 41, of Acushnet appeared before a judge in Polk County, Florida, and pled not guilty to 64 new charges (he had already been arraigned on 11 charges) bringing the total number of charges against him to 75.
The charges include transition of harmful materials and encouraging a child in sexual performance. Florida authorities say DeSilva sent text messages and naked photos to detectives posing as two 16-year-old boys.
The total bond for all the charges is $182,000.
DeSilva was the coach and owner of the Massachusetts Maple Leafs, who played at the ice rink in Raynham. The homosexual pedophile was also affiliated with the Middleboro Bolts team in the Cranberry League, a wooden bat baseball organization.
He is being held in the South County Jail in Frostproof, Fla.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that if any new victims come forward in another state, the agency that governs those jurisdictions will investigate.
