This fitlhy beast who’s on trial for sexually terrorizing two young family members says he was manipulated into confessing to law enforcers by relatives who convinced him the crimes he didn’t remember committing actually took place.
Michael Burgund faces up to life in prison without parole if convicted of five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. The case was given to the jury early Monday afternoon.
Burgund, who turns 30 Tuesday, walked into the Alton Law Enforcement Department on April 4, 2011, and told authorities he had sexually assaulted female relatives ages 2 and 3 at the time. Relatives said Burgund admitted to them that he touched the girls after the oldest told relatives about the sexual activity.
The savage said in court that when confronted with the information, he didn’t believe it had happened. He said he was convinced through conversations with his wife and mother-in-law. He believed the mother-in-law had the power of discernment and had a better feel for what was God’s will.
While in jail on the charges, he said he decided without any real memory of the events, he could not have possibly participated in the assaults.
Prosecutors contend the about-face is a ridiculous tactic to avoid prison after thoroughly detailing more than two years of abuse to relatives and cops.
