The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog.
Author of the legendary novel The Spook Who Sat By The Door, Sam Greenlee died this week at the age of 83. Historian, author and activist Dr. Vincent Harding also died this week; he too was 83. Dr. Harding helped draft Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s notorious speech against the conflict in Southeast Asia – “Beyond Vietnam.” Echoing the sentiment of pacifism, Senators Jay Rockefeller and Ron Johnson sparred during a Senate Committee meeting discussing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare); Sen. Johnson erupted and (falsely) accused Sen. Rockefeller of branding him a Racist. Professor Ta-Nehisi Coates rankled many Whites by mentioning the other “R” word – reparations. Dallas Mavericks owner and Racist Suspect Mark Cuban announced his fear of hooded black kids. Well, Gus is terrified of hooded White kids and adults, so I guess we’re both “bigots.”
