US mosque burnt to ground in an arson attack

US mosque burnt to ground in an arson attack

Washington: A day after the tragic shooting incident at a gurdwara, a mosque in the US was burned to the ground in a suspected arson attack. This was the second attack on the mosque in Missouri in little more than a month. On July 4, unidentified persons had set the same mosque afire.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said the Islamic Centre of Joplin in Missouri was gutted down to the ground on Monday.

The center was vacant at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

The FBI, in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri Department of Fire Safety are currently investigating and providing significant resources to determine the cause of the fire.

“We are currently in the preliminary stages of this investigation and are awaiting a determination as to the cause of this fire. If this fire is determined to be deliberate in nature, it will be investigated to the fullest extent possible,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael Kaste.

“Any act of violence to a house of worship is taken very seriously by law enforcement and threatens the very core of the safety and security that our communities enjoy,” he said.

Following the incident, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called for stepped-up police protection at Muslim institutions and other houses of worship nationwide.

Recently, a $15,000 reward was announced by the FBI and the ATF for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the fire at the mosque on July 4.

On Monday, CAIR offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever may have caused yesterday’s fire.

Six Sikh worshippers were gunned down by a former US army man in the Milwaukee gurdwara, Wisconsin on Sunday.

white female Arkansas Tea Party leader makes racist joke at event

Tea Party leaders in Arkansas are on the defensive after a board member of a Tea Party group in the Ozarks made a racist joke at a rally over the weekend drawing laughs from the audience.

The Baxter Bulletin in north-central Arkansas reported that Inge Marler made the comments at the annual rally of the Ozark Tea Party. The remarks, which suggested that African-Americans are on welfare, were condemned by Tea Party leaders in the state. The Bulletin reported that the condemnation came after they contacted the Tea Party for comment.

The Bulletin reports that Marler, who told the newspaper she would stop using the joke, said the following as an ice-breaker in her speech:

“A black kid asks his mom, ‘Mama, what’s a democracy?’

“‘Well, son, that be when white folks work every day so us po’ folks can get all our benefits.’

“‘But mama, don’t the white folk get mad about that?’

“‘They sho do, son. They sho do. And that’s called racism.’”

Audio of the speech can be heard here.

The remarks come as national Tea Party leaders have denied accusations that their followers are racist.

Earlier this week, former Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich (R) wrote a column for the Baltimore Sun arguing that the racism charge is being used by progressives seeking to discredit the Tea Party. The NAACP has voted to criticize what it believes are racist elements within the Tea Party.

During a March debate in the Missouri House of Representatives on a bill to require presidential candidates to show their birth certificates to the Missouri secretary of state, Tea Party members of the House denied racism charges in their argument. The bill was sponsored by legislators from the Ozarks area in southern Missouri.

“I have heard our side of the aisle called racist and xenophobic, I am tired of it,” Missouri Rep. Wanda Brown (R-Lincoln) said at the time. “There is nothing wrong with asking the president of the United States for his birth certificate. I am tired of being called racist.”

white couple charged with child pornography and bestiality

Shawn Ingram and Dana Kintz

What started as a call to police claiming domestic abuse resulted in charges  that a man and his girlfriend sexually abused a dog, court records show.

Dana Kintz, 28, called police March 12 to the couple’s home in the 4000 block  of Russell Boulevard, alleging that Shawn Ingram, 37, had punched and slapped  her. Police said they found child pornography on Ingram’s cellphone and images  of Kintz engaged in sex acts with a dog.

Both were charged with unlawful sex with an animal, a misdemeanor. Ingram  also was charged with felony possession of child pornography.

Officials said there was sufficient evidence to charge Kintz as a willing  participant, although she claimed Ingram had coerced her behavior, and made her  wear a dog collar and mask.

Ingram denied it all to police, but officials said they found he had posted  pictures of the activities to animal fetish websites.

Ingram has served time in prison previously on a child porn conviction. He is  listed on Illinoissex offender database as living out of state but not shown  on Missouri’s list.

Kintz told a reporter she believes she was charged only because she refused  to cooperate with authorities on the child porn issue; she said someone else was  responsible for the pictures on Ingram’s phone.

She also said the dog at issue has since run away.

Ingram lawyer’s Douglas Forsyth, said, “I don’t have any comment about  anything.”
